Murlitt Boosts Exports: Orders worth 00.000 have been received by Murfitt Bulk Transporters Ltd. from European countries this year and it is expected that this figure will he more than doubled by the end of December. In addition, a first " prototype " order has been completed for South African Railways.

Handyman Tankers for Cornwall: Four Scammell Handyman 10 ft.-wheelbase tractive units and four stainless-steel clay slurry tanks, mounted on Scammell tandem-axle running gear with rubber suspension, have been ordered by Commercial Motors (Exeter) Ltd. for Heavy Transport Co. Ltd., of St. Austell. These outfits, powered by Leyland Power-Plus diesel engines, will be operated at 30 tons g.t.w.

Big Export: The first of a number of Scammell Contractors ordered for Australia has now been shipped. Destined for Dfd. Rhodes (Pty.) Ltd. of Western Australia, it will haul a road train of two 30-ton capacity trailers. Gross train weight is about 80 tons.

A Move for Thomson and Brown: The Carlisle branch of Thomson and Brown Brothers Ltd. is now operating from new premises on the Willowholme Industrial Estate. The single-storey building, nearly double the floor area hitherto available, has been purpose-built to provide maximum stock-carrying capacity and facilities for quick handling of merchandise. The telephone number remains unchanged at Carlisle 25442, Manchester Move: C. A. Norgren Ltd. and associated companies Herbert Grange and Co. Ltd., Shipston Engineering Co. Ltd. and Sundstrand Sanders Ltd.. have moved their Manchester office to 477 Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester 21 (tel : Charlton 2358; telex : 668712; telegraphic address: Philsym, Manchester).

Peterborough Service: Murkett Brothers Ltd. have opened a new commercial vehicle service and repair centre in George Street. Peterborough, with four service docks and comprehensive lubricant dispensing as part of a Castrol servicing unit.

Tilt-cab Mandators: For their bulk delivery fleet. T. Wall and Sons (Ice Cream) Ltd., Gloucester, have ordered 26 AEC Mandator tractive units with the new Ergomatic tilt cab and AV69I dry-liner engine. They will operate as 26 ton-gross outfits hauling Mickleover-bodied insulated semi-trailer vans built on Scammell running gear. Sixty for Belgium: AEC Continental SA. of Antwerp, has placed orders for 32 AEC passenger chassis (16 Reliance, 16 Regal) and 28 goods vehicles (20 Mandator and eight Monarch four-wheelers). Meanwhile AEC's Portuguese distributor has ordered 29 sets of Reliance mechanical units which will be built into inonocoque coaches to be constructed locally.
