--rHE chairman of the National Board for Prices and Incomes, Mr. Aubrey Jones, I will open the discussion on productivity at the Road Haulage Association annual conference in Blackpool next month. The productivity discussion will come in the second business session, on the afternoon of 'Tuesday, October 12. The RHA hopes the conference will give Mr. Jones an opportunity to enlarge upon some of the points discussed in the Prices Board report on road haulage rates and to hear the views and experiences of hauliers.
The third business session, on the Wednesday morning, will be a post-Geddes look at licensing and it is now known that the vice-chairman of the Conservative Parliamentary Transport Committee, Mr. David Webster (MP for Weston-super-Mare) will open this discussion. He will also be able to hear first-hand opinions on how road operators feel that the licensing system might be improved.
The cpnference's first business session will be devoted to discussing the resolutions published in The Commercial Motor on August 27; at the end-of-conference banquet and ball the RHA chairman. Mr. A. R. Butt, will propose the toast to the guests and the Mayor of Blackpool will reply.
