Marx, head of the overseas and Canadian group, MR. EDWARD RILEY, general manager, MR. E. S. HOGLUND, assistant general manager of General Motors' overseas operations, and MR. IVAN DRESSER, regional manager for Europe.

MR. L. A. THAN has been appointed sales representative of Brake Linings,. Ltd., to cover Northumberland, Durham, Westmorland, Cumberland and the North Riding. MR. A. E. WROE has been appointed to cover Cheshire, Lancashire, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Caernarvonshire, Merione'.11 and the Isle of Anglesey.

RAIL COACH WENT BY ROAD FOR EXPORT

WHEN Cravens' Ltd., Sheffield, last W week completed the first of 19 railway coaches they are building for Hong Kong, and intended to move it away by rail, they realized that this could not be done because the line to Manchester had been electrified and the coach was 1 ft. too high to pass under the wires.

The coach was moved by road. Measuring 75 ft. long by 14 ft. 5 in. high, it was placed on bogies and moved by a tractor at each end. It weighed 45 tons and will seat 120 passengers. Each coach is to be fitted with a boiler for the heating system.

THE 1954-55 edition of "The Little Red Book," containing particulars of bus operators, has been published by Passenger Transport Journal, Avenue Chambers, Vernon Place, Southampton Row, London, W.C.1. Twice as many operators as in the previous edition are listed and there are several innovations in the arrangement and indexing of the contents.
