power unit, which develops hp. at 1,700 r.p.m., with a maxitorque output of 300 lb.-ft. at r.p.m., is mounted in the frame as t with the four-speed synchromesh ox. Gardner swinging links at the and rubber mountings at the rear the suspension system, and a ulic torque-reaction damper is ,orated. A two-piece propeller shaft, with a Layrub flexible coupling behind the gearbox and Hardy Spicer needle-roller joints at the flexibly mounted centre bearing and rear axle, is used. The combination of a flexible clutch centre and Layrubcoupling at the gearbox is known to be effective in damping out transmission vibration, especially on the overrun, with corresponding reduction in bearing wear throughout the transmission line.
