A FURTHER step in Newcastle-onTyne City Council's scheme for introducing trolleybuses on tram routes, when tram-track renewals become necessary, was taken last Sunday, when the tram service on the Brighton Grove-Walker route was replaced by 30 trolleybuses.
This is the second route to be converted in Newcastle. The first, from Denton Burn to Wallsend, has proved a big success. It is understood the Fenham route is next on the list for conversion.
