Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EDINBURGH Transport Committee, 1---alast Friday, approved concessions in the municipal bus fares. These include the abolition of the 4d. fare, the creation of a maximum ordinary fare of 3d., the reduction of the children's fare from Lid. to 1d., and the reduction of the workmen's return fare from 5d, to 4d.

Mr. R. M'Leod, the transport manager, estimated that the loss of revenue a36 which would result in a full year in consequence of these reductions would be approximately £1,000.

Councillor Muter, the chairman, said that under the new scheme it would be possible for one to travel 11 miles for 3d. That was a remarkable charge.. The reductions were possible only because of the happy state of the bus account.
