Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TO avoid clumsiness of appearance in vans of Very large capacity is by no means easy, but, by taking precautions to reduce, as much as possible, the effect upon the,eye of the big area of bodywork visible to it, a more pleasing result can be attained.

A good example of skilful work in this direction is afforded by the big vehicle shown in the accompanying picture. An articulated outfit of exceptionally large capacity, it comprises a Leyland Cub tractive unit and a semitrailer built by R. A. Dyson and Co., Ltd., 76-80, Grafton Street, Liverpool. 8. Although the body has a capacity of no less than 1,800 cubic ft., it is pleasing in appearance and the proportions are not ungainly.

No small part in achieving this effect is played by the moulding lines, to the design of which much careful thought has been given. The radiused top and rounded front also enhance the good looks of this huge vehicle, A34

For the outside panelling, Masonite Presdwood is used, whilst the interior walls are composed of plywood. The provision of ordinary doors at the rear was rendered impractical by the generous dimensions, accordingly use was made of a tailboard and roller shutter. A readily detachable coupling connects the two units, so that the Leyland can be employed with other semitrailers. F. and J. vacuum brakes are standardized. The overall length of the body is 24 ft. 6 ins., and the height from the lowest part to the top of the roof 11 ft:
