Sitting at Perth, last week, Mr. Henry Riches, Northern Scotland Licensing Authority, issued a warning to farmers and potato merchants against conveying potato gatherers by lorry to their places of employment. He said he was determined to stop the practice of carrying passengers, although they were going only a short distance. A public service vehicle licence would be necessary.
