A Tecalemit gun-filling tank. IN garages and fleet-maintenance depots chassis lubrication is a routine task which involves, at frequent intervals, the charging of grease guns. Teealemit, Ltd., Mitre House, Scrubbs Lane, Willesden, London, N.W.10, marketed various various types of device to facilitate this work, but one of the most simple and inexpensive which will appeal to many commercial-vehicle users is that known as the gun-filling attachment.
It consists of a top plate for the 28-lb., 56-lb. or 112-lb. container used for Tecalemit lubricant. The container has its lid removed and the attachment then takes its place. The plate carries a semi-rotary pump and the necessary attachments for the grease guns—either the old or new type—which are placed on the appropriate nozzle; the pump operated and the gun is then charged
• ready for use. For the three sizes of container named the prices of the gun
, filling attachments are £5, £5 58, and 15 10s. respectively. We understand that one of these devices will be supplied free of charge to users placing contracts for regular supplies of Tecalemit lubricant.
For those who prefer a portable tank -B48,
for gun-charging there is the special model designed for use with guns of the 3G or 3G/A pattern. It is.fitted with a pump and a rigid nozzle, over which is slipped the hollow handle of the gun to be filled. The weight when full is 34 lb., the container holding 20 lb. of lubricant. The price of this tank is £4 10s.
The type of tank in question is illustrated in the centre column; a gun is shown in position; charging is effected through the hollow handle.
Another useful accessory for the fleet garage is the penetrating-oil spray. This is worked by compressed air from the garage pipe line. The container holds 1 pint of Tecalemit penetrating-oil which is intended to dissolve rust, loosen corroded parts and to lubricate inaccessible components. A 20-ft. length of hose is supplied with each spray at a price of £3 12s. 6d.
When at the factory we learned that the grouped-nipple system of chassis lubrication will be adopted by the majority of well-known makers of commercial vehicles at the forthcoming exhibition at Olympia. The concern has recently adopted as a slogan, 'From barrel to bearing without exposure."
