COUNTY Tyrone operator Hayes Fuels has been fined a total of £900 for overloading offences.

In a case brought by the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA), Enniskillen Magistrates' Court was told that in November 2012 enforcement officers stopped an artic travelling on the A4 in the Enniskillen area.

The driver was directed to the DVA test centre at Chanterhill, where the vehicle was found to be overloaded on several of its axles and by 10.54% (4.6 tonnes) on its gross train weight.

Dungannon-based Alistair Hayes, trading As Hayes Fuels, was fined £300 for each of three counts of overloading.

At the same court, Hayes' driver Anthony McKee was fined £100 for each of three counts of overloading and £100 for a drivers' hours offence for infringing his daily rest restrictions. Summing up
