Aquila Truck Centre is investing more than £150,000 into its Gloucester site following the purchase of Iveco franchise Bristol Street Commercials from Vertu Motors (CM 23 May).

The money will go into improving facilities and to "dualbrand the business to meet the needs of both Iveco and MAN Truck & Bus operators in the region", explained the group MD Gary Mullaney.

"The investment in facilities will enable us to offer even more to truck operators across the region and we're really looking forward to welcoming new customers into the dealership," he said and indicated that the group is looking to recruit trained technicians.

Aquila has six MAN dealerships across the West Midlands, which also houses the lsuzu Truck UK franchise. The newly acquired Iveco network includes three main sites at Avonmouth, Gloucester and Swindon, as well as two associate parts and servicing centres at Frome and Hereford.

Aquila was already an authorised repairer for Bristol Street Commercials in Worcester when it struck the deal with Vertu Motors.

• Aquila Group has appointed Roy Morton as the dealer principal to spearhead the company's ambitious business development programme for the Iveco network. He arrives from MAN where he worked in the key account division. Previous roles include dealer principal at an Iveco dealership and regional sales director for MAN.
