II I feel compelled to write in disgust concerning the pompous, ill-informed, biased and totally untrue views of Judith Hanna (CM 26 Sept-2 Oct).

It has always amazed me how these fools, who obviously live in cloud-cuckoo land, get any recognition at all. I know Transport 2000 has been around for some time now, but as your editorial of that issue points out, they are now a serious threat.

I am just one of thousands of hauliers, drivers, and so on who know only too well that the "artificially cheap" deal Hanna talks of is firmly on the side of the customer. It's about time people in and out of haulage realised that we are in industry, food to some extent, electricity, and just about everything else.

We take rubbish from non-professional moaners like Hanna all the time. I for one would just love to see her and her cosy little gaggle of friends' reactions if they actually got their own way. I can forecast the results — high prices, lack of goods and all the usual knock-on effects that would accompany such rank stupidity.

I too have children and care for our world, but I, like many productive ordinary people, live in the real world, too. Hanna and her kind should remember

that. These people are attacking our livelihoods. I take exception to that. MP Fisher, Shire Transport, Cannock, Staffs.
