ROAD NEWS Around Preston
• Plans for a bypass south and west of Preston, to relieve congestion on the M6, have been unveiled by the Department of Transport.
Work is unlikely to start before 1998.
The first public exhibition showing the department's suggested route was held at Preston Town Hall earlier this week.
