egular readers will recall that last month (CM 12-18 Sept) the Hawk was surprised to receive a missive from the Eastern Traffic Area Licensing Authority answering a CM letter of 17 June 1969 enquiring about pending prosecutions accompanied by a list running to several pages.
Frankly, after more than two decades the matter had somewhat lost its news value...but then a second letter arrived, this time on Vehicle Inspectorate notepaper, again responding to CM's query from 17 June 1969, again with an exhaustive list.
The Hawk is most impressed — as alternative comedian Vic Reeves might say: "You wouldn't let it lie."
