• Parcelforce has gone back to the negotiating table after 85% of its 11,000 workers rejected its latest pay offer (CM17-230ct).
The Union of Communication Workers met Parcelforce last week to demand extra cash after its members turned down 4% on wages plus £210 in lump sum payments.
At the meeting Parcelforce queried the procedure of the ballot but the UCW says ballot results have not been questioned when they have gone in the company's favour. The two sides meet again on 28 October when Parcelforce will reveal whether it can improve its offer. If it does not a ballot on industrial action is likely to follow.
