THE Canterbury by-pass ha: been opened by Junior Transport Minister Kenneth Clarke. The completion of the four and a half mile £8.9m bypass marks the completion of the improvement scheme on the A2/1V12 fink between London and Dover and the Channel ports.
Mr Clarke said that the A2/M2 route has been greatly improved, and when the remainder of the M25 north-east of London stretch is completed in two years' time, there will be a good choice of routes to the Midlands and the North.
