THE CHANCES of reaching harmonious wage settlement i North-east England look as elt sive as ever, following err ployers' refusal to discuss th Transport and General Worker; Union's request for a joint if dustrial council.
The employers' initial wil ingness to meet the TGWU wa reversed at sub-area level, an union negotiator Geoff Egglei ton told CM that he is not hopi ful of the employers being an more willing to meet to discuss wage claim when that i submitted.
