I DON'T recommend Liberia as a destination for British international hauliers. Cal Harrison Pennue, a former deputy commander in the Liberian Army, had Edward Wonkeryor, the government radio manager, dragged from his car and given 25 lashes just for overtaking him on the road.
The possibility that he may have been mistaken for Terry Wogan and the fact that Pennue had been thrown into prison for an indefinite period can have been little consolation to Wonkeryor as he lay in hospital.
