Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

to a garage for repairs which are satisfactorily carried out, the vehicle nevertheless leaving with another component broken when I know full well it was in working order before entering the garage?

AIt is normal procedure for garages to

safeguard themselves against claims of the sort you have in mind by putting up a notice saying they 'cannot be held responsible for damage caused to vehicles while in their workshops.

We would have thought, however, that any breakage of a component on a vehicle that was in for other repairs would be taken care of by the garage. If your garage is not prepared to do this, then we suggest you see a solicitor to look into the possibility of obtaining redress.
