• Premier Travel Ltd., Cambridge, has warned local authorities in Cambridgeshire that some of the company's more rural sections of route might have to be withdrawn unless it was granted subsidies under section 34 of the Transport Act 1968. Ever-increasing operational costs together with a reduction of traffic have prompted the company to make this move.
However, negotiations with Cambridgeshire County Council, which is co-ordinating discussions with the 30 local councils involved, are proceeding "very satisfactorily", according to a spokesman 'for the company. A working meeting has also been held with officials from the Ministry of Transport regarding the future of the routes and the question of subsidies.
