PA.A NEW dumper body, constructed entirely from plastics, has been produced by Bowyer Bros. (Congleton), Ltd. Mounted on an A.E.C. Mammoth Major chassis, the body was built from two moulded sections bonded together forming a unit 18 ft. long by 7 ft. wide by 3 ft. high.
Rigidity of the structure is maintained by massive side members and a hollow rib running along the upper edge. This also serves as a protection against falling gravel. Rustproof steel brackets bonded into the plastics are employed for mounting the body on its metal subframe.
Weighing only 9 cwt., the body has been designed for gravel haulage, although it is also suited for carrying corrosive products such as cement, lime and salt.
