BIG "ELECTRIC" EXPERIMENT

THE potentialities of battery-electric tractors, designed to replace horses, were shown at a demonstration held by the Railway Executive at Hull this week. Twelve prime movers and a number of trailers are taking part in a large-scale experiment in collection and delivery work.

Women older than 65 and men over 70 are to be allowed to travel free on Birmingham Transport Department's vehicles between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., except on Saturdays and Sundays.
