Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

OPERATORS of producer gas ‘-/vehicles will be interested to know how improved running and other advantages can result from the use of Redex, the well-known oil additive made by the Wayne V. Myers Co.. Ltd., 57-58, Dolben Street, London, S.E.I.

This concern claims that the induction into the cylinders, by Means of its Lubrocharger, of Redex, in the form of oil mist, counteracts the dryness of the gas, clears deposits, including carbon, from valves and rings and from in the induction pipe and manifold, softens gritty particles, and strengthens the film of lubricant to resist abrasion and general wear of the cylinders.

Furthermore, it is stated that, because valves andrings are kept free, compression is materially improved, and that this is specially apparent at starting, when the need for warming up—the method otherwise necessary for freeing these parts—is obviated. It stresses the marked benefit in both starting and running that ensues from the use of this preparation.

The Redex Lubrocharger is coupled to the gas system on the producer side of the mixer and injects a " bleed " of Redex automatically or under manual control, We •are informed that on one fleet its effect has been to lengthen the period between mixing-valve dismantling and cleaning operations from two days to six weeks.

A supplement to the Redex booklet, which deals in full with the foregoing and which contains the latest news of , general Redex developments, will shortly be available to readers who make application for copies at the address given above.
