• Airborne mist and metal particles generated by a grinding process have been filtered with such efficiency through filtration units made by Filtermist International that the machine shop of a Kent sub-contract machining company is now kept "crystal clear all the time," according to its managing director, David Newman of David Newman and Co of Farnborough.
Newman installed horizontal 1,275n-0/h (750 Cu ft/min) Filterrnist units on each of his five large surface grinding machines when they were installed in a low-ceiling building. The company grinds rocker arms for
the automotive industry.
Unlike more expensive electrostatic or media filters, says Filtermist, there are no plates to clean or expensive filter panels to replace and no requirements, under normal operating conditions, for frequent attention.
