Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• MAN Transport Consultancy claims its PC-operated fleet system has achieved 10-15% cost savings among German and Austrian users. Recently relaunched in the UK, the system is now available in modular form. This enables an operator to buy as little as he feels is necessary for his business, although the complete 18module software package costs under £10,000 to install.

The modules are designed for IBM-compatible personal computers: an in-cab computer allowing drivers to link up with their base, currently on trial in Germany, will be launched next year.

Brendon McEnhill, aftersales manager at MAN Volkswagen in Swindon, believes the refurbished system is a winner. "We have not been pushing the original scheme because we knew there were improvements on the way. Now we are ready with what we believe to be 'the most flexible and economical fleet management system in Europe."
