Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Warrington-based Carrier Transport Refrigeration has launched an aerodynamic trailer refrigeration unit called the Euro-Phoenix, designed to meet the requirements of the European distribution market.

With improved heating and cooling capacities, claimed to be greater than any other existing refrigeration unit, it caters for anticipated developments in trailer lengths.

The standard version has a refrigeration capacity of 7.3kW at minus 20°C and 9.5kW at minus 20°C for the R502 option. Vehicles carrying meat at chilled temperature will benefit from the huge 15kW capacity at 0°C.

The Euro-Phoenix was designed with new noise legislation in mind while providing the uniform load ventilation and temperature control of the products being carried. Available in both diesel and dieselelectric versions, it is fitted with a fully external evaporator and a six-cylinder compressor.

For temperatures higher than minus 12°C the Varipower switching unit by-passes four of the compressors' cylinders as the selected temperature is reached. To reduce load on the electric motor a Powersaver unit, controlled by a switch on the control panel, can be used to by-pass two cylinders of the compressor.
