normally of the highest standard and, therefore, I was surprised to see on page 12 of your Show Number (20-26 October 1988) under the "Rockwell adds air disc brake" article, the statement that "Renault launched its own front axle disc brake system".
The air disc brake fitted on the Renault R420 vehicle was, in fact, developed by Lucas Heavy Duty Braking Systems and is part of a family of air disc brakes which shares many features which are incorporated in the highly successful hydraulic disc brake, as fitted to the Ford Cargo, Volvo FL4 and Daimler-Benz LNI models.
