Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

What would drivers say if Peter Thompson, chief executive of the National Freight Corporation and other advocates of simpler, more austere vehicles, had their way? Many of the expensive frills have been provided to please drivers, who have been wooed with luxurious cabs and every kind of thought-saving device by foreign manufacturers. The goodwill of workers now seems to transcend all else in road transport.

I suspect that any maker who cut out frills would also cut his own throat. I doubt, whether, when it came to the crunch, many of those who call for a return to more basic vehicles would buy them if their drivers disapproved.
