LOW ROLLING resistance and cool running for greater fuel economy are claimed for a new computer-designed all tyre, the HM 80, from Pirelli.
Available in either 10.00 R20 16 pr tubed with a multi-ply textile carcass and steel belt or 11 R22.5 16 pr tubeless with a mono-ply steel carcass and steel belt, it combines a new tread pattern with patented transverse sides; while the wide steel belt and unique angled shoulder is said to promote higher mileage and even wear.
A V-shaped profile of the outer grooves reduces the risk of stone trapping and damage to the tyre carcass. Spacer blocks stiffen the ribs and serve to keep the channels open for drainage. Although designed for allaxle use, the Pirelli's even wear characteristic makes it particularly suitable for steered axles.
