Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

bus fleet in the world; the reference was made again recently In connection with the LTE decision to cease one-man conversions. lust how big is LIE 's fleet compared with the numbers of vehicles owned by, say, NBC and what is the annual traffic comparison?'

A London Transport has 6150 vehicles, compared with 21,800 owned by National Bus Company through its operating subsidiaries. The following comparative figures (for 1970) taken from Basic Road Statistics 1972, published by the British Road Federation.

Total vehicle fleet: London Transport, 6153; local authorities and PTAs 16,351; National Bus Company 21,839; Scottish Bus Group 4,696; other operators 24,899.

Passenger journeys per year: London Transport 1,502m; Local authorities and PTAs 3,840m; NBC 2,573m; Scottish Bus Group 464m; other operators 775m.

The very large figure for "other operators" of course includes coaches and the high number of vehicles but relatively low number of passenger journeys reflects this.
