Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A Leyland Buffalo and a Super Buffalo, each towing drawbar trailers, have been used in recent Forestry Commission demonstrations of methods of handling raw timber. On two-day trials, the outfits were worked at up to 32 tons gtw on winding forest roads.

Where stacked timber was off the forest road, the drawbar trailer was unhitched and towed by a tractor to the loading point.

The Forestry Commission reports that the drawbar outfits showed traction and manoeuvrability superior to artics on this work.

A County 754 mobile loading tractor equipped with an Atlas rear-mounted crane was another item of equipment demonstrated; as was a Scammell Routeman eight-wheeler with Atlas 3000 crane, which self-loaded trees up to 30ft long.
