SIR REGINALD WILSON, deputy chairman and managing director of the Transport Holding Co. since its formation in 1962, has been appointed chairman by the Minister of Transport. The appointment follows the retirement of Sir Philip Warier. During the war Sir Reginald served in the Ministry of War Transport and later was joint financial adviser, MoT.

From 1955-60 he was chairman, Eastern Transport Board, and chairman, London Midland Board, 1960-62. He served as presi dent of the Institute of Transport in 1957-58.

Another BRS appointment is V. F. Clements, formerly information officer, BRS Federation Ltd., to be Sir Reginald's personal assistant.' A. W. Knight becomes BASF information officer in co-ordination with his THC duties.

Martin Richards, 31, IRT Northern division secretary, becomes East Midland secretary at the end of the year, following the retirement of Aid. W. G. E. Dyer.

Sir Stanley Raymond, having resigned as chairman of British Railways Board, will not be accepting the position of chairman of the proposed Freight Integration Council.

F. M. Pickering has been appointed divisional manager, technical training, RTITB. W. G. Levitt has been appointed Metropolitan deputy LA in succession to C. J. Macdonald, who retires at the end of December after 18 years. Mr. Levitt, a barrister, is the author of Short Encyclopaedia of Medicine for Lawyers.

Neil D. G. Mackenzie has been appointed Great Yarmouth Corporation Transport general manager.

G. Duckworth, general manager of Southdown Motor Services Ltd., has been appointed a director of London Coastal Coaches Ltd. to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of S. J. B. Skyrme, due to pressure of other business commitments.

Charles Greystock, 43, has been appointed London Transport divisional engineer (central buses—B division). He was previously assistant divisional engineer.

Bryan Roberts has been appointed transport manager of Dennis Brothers Ltd., of Guildford, Surrey. Mr. Roberts has previously held appointment as transport manager with Ratcliffe (Guildford) Ltd. and Marley Concrete Ltd.

OBITUARY

We regret to record the death of Lt.-Gen. Sir Archibald Nye.

Lt.-Gen. Nye, 72, last December became a vice-chairman of the AA. He was also a member of the standing joint committee of the RAC. AA, and RSAC.
