Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

UTITH a special eye to fleet " operators wishing to use containers for local deliveries, York Trailer Co. Ltd. on Tuesday announced a new type of skeletal body framework to enable rigid chassis to carry containers. Using chassis with 8.25-16 tyres, the platform height of the container is 42in.

York is offering what it calls a "one-stop deal" for rigids, which includes installation of a York trailing axle and the skeletal body. The third axle is necessary in order to obtain an adequate payload on 8.25-16 tyres.

The body and axle conversion is available on these four low-loading chassis:— In the case of the demonstrator illustrated, the third-axle conversion costs £690, the skeletal body £198 and steel rear mudwings £17—all these being recommended list prices before discount.

The skeletal body is suitable for 1S0 or BR containers up to 20ft. long. The tapered box-section outriggers carry international Twistlox securing devices.

As well as conversions for low-loading chassis, York is offering rigid skeletals on higher-rated chassis with 9.00 and 10.00 tyre equipment. On four-wheelers up to 16 tons gross a typical payload would be 8.5 tons (plus container 1 ton 18cwt). Six wheelers plated for 22 tons g.v.w. would provide for about 13.5 tons payload inside the container.

In these higher-capacity types York is offering the "one-stop deal" also. Container-carrying skeletal conversions will be undertaken at York premises at Corby, Rainham, Warrington, Glasgow and Cardiff.
