Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the inaugural dinner of the Nlotorcycle Show, at Olympia, it as by Mr. George R. Sims, when speaking in response to the toast of the Press. He veered round, somehow, to the eternal questions of women and marriage, and quoted the cynical etteranees of one acid spinster: she described marriage as the ' giving up ef the attentions of several men for t he inattentions of one."

It would appear that the Mancliester show question is now almost settled, and that the S.M.M.T. will hold a motorcar exhibition in Manchester, in March next. (venue not yet decided). Spaces have been already seetired by commercial vehiele concerns. hilt as the great show for the heavy vehicles is to be held in Landon it is extremely doubtful that a second all-commercial exhibition will ma teria 1 ize in Ma nehester during 1 Oil. The venue may shift to that town for the following year.

It would gladden many a motor mannfacterer's heart to receive an order for half a gross of one type of motor vehicle. This occurred last week, when F. B. Goodehild and Co., Ltd., received one order for 72 three-wheeled orite-carriers for Australia, to he delivered six a Meath.

Some weeks ago, after a visit to Scotland, T recalled, with zest, a little run on an Argyll " Flying Fifteen," in company with Mr. J. S. Matthew, and as they are making a cab chassis, the li.A.C. rating of which works out at 15.8, I jumped at the conclusion, or concluded through faulty recollection, that they were one and the same type ; I now proclaim myself, in sackcloth and ashen, for any confusion 1 mayhave caused. I am reminded that the cab chassis is a totally-different one, the frame being much heavier and stronger and with a specially-large web at the commencement of the insween. I had occasion to call at Argyll's London showrooms last week, and several taxieabbies were in and

out during my stay; I wan stray': by the Argyll enthusiasm that seemed to prevail.

One of these days, when motor shows have ceased from troubling and the overseas be at rest, I am hoping to spend a few days in Germany, and it may hill to tiny lot to pay a flying visit to some of the big Deutschland tire factories: it is personally refreshing. therefore, to give on this page a photograph of the formal opening of the. new Corbaeh branch of the Peter Union factory of Frankfort. The new buildings and plant. may be looked upon as models of their kind; the factory itself is three storeys high and is capable of accommodating over 3,000 workmen.

An interesting item that was crowded out of last week's news is that Mr. Keys has taken over the

management of the solid-motor-tire department of J. W. Connolly, Ltd., in the room of Captain Bennett, who no longer represents them. Mr. Keys will dt.uhtless, by this time, have already nuide the acquaintance of some of the principal users, and he will be glad to receive inquiries and to give quotations.

I can readily understand that a large number of gentlemen who have sent, in response to myrequest, ideas for a souvenir to be used at the next commercial vehicle show, will scan these pages each week eagerly for some news of the decision. These sclivenirs have not been forgotten, hut in the press of business they have had to wait their turn, which will come shortly now. Meanwhile, we are all head over ears in the preparation of the Overseas Number, which, I may remark, is going very strong. It promises to he a bulky tome.
