/ Volvo Truck Corporation expects to increase its profit in 1986, as well as its export sales.
This year, it aims to produce the same number of vehicles as in 1985 — 41,500 Volvo and WhitelAutocar models — but to raise its profits through increased penetration in the United States and Australia.
Completely-built-up FL6 and FL7 rigids and tractive-units are already being shipped out to America (badged as FE models) to sell alongside Volvo White's existing model range. The FL10 model will be launched in Australia in the autumn.
Despite a fairly static US truck market last year, Volvo White boosted its market share to 9%. In Australia it took second place in the market above seven tonnes GVW.
After initial production delays, Volvo claims it is now supplying sufficient right-handdrive FL models to the UK, although it acknowledges that sales have been lost by restricted supply.
