Consortium, worth in February 1982, are now worth £27 according to their latest revaluation.
Ernst and Whinney, NFC's chartered accountants, has set a fair value of 21.35 for each 10p share in time for shares dealing in the privatised group on June 13.
This increase in value, from £22 per 21 original shareholding, follows the declaration of a 30% increase in the halfyear trading profit to 221 million.
The results, which cover the 24 weeks to March 22, also show a 22.5 million increase in pre-tax profit to 212.4 million, net profit up from 28 million to 29.6 million and turnover up by nearly 19% from 2294.8 million to 2349.1 million.
The trading margin is up from 4.8% to 6%.
