• Land Rover's One-1 Towlift recovery model has been developed by its specia vehicle branch and equipped by Bristol-based Brimec.
Its strengthened rear-end suspension gives a 2.2 tonne capacity rated rear axle and maximum lift of 1,000kg at 1,585nun.
By using a beam support system of small aircraft whet to share the payload with tht rear axle, this can be increased to 1,120kgs at 1,500nun.
A gas accumulator is inserted in the hydraulic oil lini to absorb sharp pressure changes when towing over rough ground while a pulley fitted between the wheel frames gives a craning facility for pulling at up to 90°.
Several police forces inclut ing Leicestershire and Suffoll have shown interest.
