Base supports — stringers — have been introduced by Bowater for their Interpal disposable pallets and containers in order to give additional rigidity for handling heavy loads.
Three stringers are used per pallet and they are secured by plastic plugs which are almost impossible to remove and no special tools are required to fix them.
The disposable pallets are made from weatherproof corrugated board, and their weight including stringers is said to be 60 per cent lighter than those of timber equivalents. Made by: Bowater Packaging Ltd, Portland House, Stag Place, London SW1E 5D,J.
