Instruments which come into force on May 30 are The Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1974 No. 763 the Motor Vehicles (Designation of approval marks) Regulations 1974 No. 764 and the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1974 No. 765.
The first extends the items for which type approval facilities are available to tachograph instrument heads and discs and certain vehicles silencers incorporating fibrous materials.
The second designates new type approval marks for tachograph heads and discs and also for advance warning triangles.
The third instrument ensures that a vehicle with an EEC type approved silencer does not have to meet different requirements for British Regulations.
