('AN the users of commercial petrol obtain any assur ance from theā€¢Minister of Fuel that the chemicals to be introduced into commercial petrol will not be injurious to the engine? The cost of keeping vehicles in roadworthy condition is already high and spares are still awkward to get at times. Most of us still have vivid memories of burnt-out valves, etc., during the war period, mainly due to "doctored fuel."

Whilst fully understanding the difficulties facing Mr. Gaitskell, let us hope that he will spare a thought for the commercial-vehicle owners as well as the "black ma rketeers."
