IT is reported that about 400 bus operatives of Salford Corporation have left the Transport and General Workers' Union and have formed the National Union of Public Vehicle Drivers and Operators.

DOUGLAS DEPOT CLEARED
THE 10-day sale at Lanark of 2,586 military vehicles to clear the Ministry of Supply's war-time depot at Douglas. Lanarkshire, ended on May 7. The total reali/ed was i:283,373. The record total of £65,882 on May 7 included the sale's highest price--41,640 for a Leyland Hippo 10-ton oiler.
