• Interlink Express, the parcels and distribution company, reports £3.08 million pre-tax profits for the last six months of 1987 — a rise of 45%. The Bristol-based company is investing £1 million on a sorting hub near Kidderminster in the West Midlands, built close to their existing centre. hiterlink says this will increase capacity four times. It is handling 24,000 parcels a night — twice as many as their present depot is equipped for. The company floated shares on the unlisted securities market in October 1986 and at the same time opened a franchise in Eire with a parcels service to and from the UK. Interlink Ireland showed operating profits in each of the last two months in the half year to end December.
The group plans to open depots in at least one other European country next year.
