• Renault's truck manufacturing subsidiary, the stateowned Renault Vehicules IndustrieIs, has returned to the black, a year ahead of schedule. Between 1983-86, the company lost FFr 7.5 billion (2715 million), and RVI says the change in fortune reflects a heavy European demand for trucks.
Renault Truck Industries, its UK subsidiary, made a small operating profit in the second bald of last year.
• Lowfield Distribution is to handle warehousing and deliveries for coffee manufacturer Melitta.
• Plaxtons, the coach manufacturer and distributor, is buying the issue share capital of the Ford dealer Isis Motor Group for £2.5 million.
• TNT Contract Services has won a "substantial" contract with Ford Motor Company to distribute parts to its dealers in Wales and the South West.
TNT has handled a similar Ford distribution contract in the South and South East for the past two-and-ahalf years.
