Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

11 Renault Truck Industries has rationalised its G-range of tractive units, withdrawing two models from its UK heavy truck line-up.

The discontinued models are the 4 x 2 day cab G23(117TD, which is powered by the turbocharged 169kW (227hp) Renault MIDS.062030 engine, and the twin-steer G260.22TD with the blown I92kW (257hp) MIDS.062045 unit. Both the 4x2 G230 and the 6x2 G260 were produced at RTI's Dunstable truck assembly plant.

According to RTI, the deleted trucks have been superseded by more powerful models — particularly the twinsteer G260, which has not proved popular with operators running at 38 tonnes, who prefer its more powerful G290 6 x 2 stablemate Commercial Motor, however, expects Renault Truck Industries to launch a twin-steer version of its 247kW (331hp) premium R340 two-axle Turboliner tractive unit by the end of the summer. A prototype 6x2 R340 has already been built, and is currently undergoing evaluation trials with RTI. No decision has been made on whether Rh i will import the more powerful 268kW (359hp) two-axle R365 tractive unit, which it launched on the Continent late last year (CM 5-11 November 1987).
