ONE SHOULD be grateful to the international group, Iveco, for injecting a little optimism into Britain by forecasting that, having increased commercial vehicle sales last year, Britain and Germany will stimulate other European countries in the same way this year. Economic recovery in Europe in the next nine months is expected to be less marked than in America but "probably more durable".
Scandinavia and the Benelux area are seen as particularly hopeful markets for commercial vehicles. Even troubled Nigeria is thought to be likely to resume imports in the second half of the year, Until the Middle East sorts itself out, however, I shall continue to use my crystal ball as a door stop.
