SOUTH YORKSHIRE PTE has introduced minor modifications to make its buses running in Shot..., field easier to use for blind passengers.
The modification includes the fitting of a small aluminium plate on the entrance stanchion with the letter "L" or "R" embossed on it to tell a blind passenger which side of the vehicle seats specially designated for the disabled are situated.
According to an SYPTE spokesman the modification cost very little, although the tool needed to make the plates did cost £300 but is expected to last indefinitely.
