RO-RO 84 at Nice in May is being held at a time which marks the advent of a new era in roll-on/ roll-off ferry transport, with 11 super carriers soon to serve deep-sea routes. In addition, two firms alone are building 21 medium-size vessels.
These developments are among those affecting transport and will be discussed. One session at the ro-ro conference will be led by J. Penissard of the International Road Transport Union.
