general manager Charles Mr Mercer has served with National Bus for more than 45 years. He began his career with Devon General in 1938 and progressed through various clerical positions with this company and Thames Valley Traction before becoming assistant traffic manager for Cumberland Motor Services in 1958.
In 1964 he became Cumber land's traffic manager and from 1971 to 1974 he was traffic manager for United Automobile Services at Darlington. In 1974 he took up his current position.
