Malcolm Howard to give new impetus to the company's product development plans.
Four regional operations managers have been chosen, three of them from inside the company.
They are Doug Edwards, previously area operations manager, who becomes regional manager responsible for the north; David Burtenshaw, Hub general manager, who will be looking after the parcels sorting centre; Alan Sykes, formerly Chasetown general manager, who becomes regional manager south west; and Peter Whitaker, who joins Lex Wilkinson to cover the south east region.
Mr Whitaker was previously south western regional manager for Atlas Express.
