Mr Cecil Johnson, of Stanley (Co. irham), a headmaster and member of inley urban council has protested to the wthern General Transport Co Ltd out schoolchildren not being allowed to ard a bus during the recent cold weather. : said that he was a passenger on a bus en the driver refused to allow children board, saying that the bus was full. Mr mson alleged that actually there were ly eight passengers. Replying to his irges, NGT said that the bus concerned s on a circular route and the driver did : allow the children to get on because he wy there was a more direct bus to their tination in operation. Mr Johnson has cribed the reply as "balderdash".
